After a superb start to the One-Day International leg of the ongoing white-ball series, South Africa Women will once again square off against Ireland Women for the second ODI at the St. George's Park in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday, December 16.

The Proteas had got off to a flying start in the opening game, registering an easy seven-wicket win, despite the rain-curtailed encounter. Riding on the partnership between Sune Luus and Miane Smit for the fourth wicket, the hosts managed to get past the finishing line, completing their run chase with 61 balls still intact.

Ireland Women, on the other hand, did not learn from their whitewash in the T20Is and put on display a yet another underwhelming performance in the first ODI at the Buffalo Park. Now, the Gaby Lewis-led side will be looking to make a comeback with a win to keep the three-match series alive. Else, they might have to return home without a single win under their belt.

St. George's Park, Gqeberha —Pitch Report

The St. George's Park is among the most notable venues in Gqeberha. However, no Women's ODIs have been played here so far, and the upcoming match will mark the first such match for the historic venue. But going by records in men's ODIs, teams have won chasing seven times out of the last ten encounters here. The captain winning the toss should look to do the same on Tuesday as well, and try to restrict the opposition to a total below 280 to maximize their chances of winning.

SA-W vs IRE-W Probable Top Performers

Probable Best Batter: Laura Wolvaardt

If at all someone is likely to be predicted as the best batter in the upcoming match, it will be the South African captain Laura Wolvaardt. The opening batter has been going in an exceptional touch, carrying her form from the recently-concluded World Cup, where she scored centuries in the semi-finals as well as the finals. If she can maintain the momentum, she will be able to find runs once again in this upcoming match.

Probable Best Bowler: Nonkululeko Mlaba

Nonkululeko Mlaba is a skilled left-arm orthodox spinner, and she proved exactly why the Proteas bank so much on her services. In the previous game, Mlaba was the highest wicket-taker for her side, picking three crucial wickets that helped restricting the Irishwomen to just 209/7 at the end of the innings. A similar spell with the ball is expected from her in the upcoming contest as well.
