2021 champions Australia (AUS) lock horns with Namibia (NAM) in match 24 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Sir Vivivan Richards Stadium in North Sound, Antigua on Wednesday, June 12.
Australia are coming off a huge win against arch-rivals England by 36 runs in Barbados. The Aussies became the first team to post a total of 200 or more in the ongoing edition of the marquee event. They amassed 201/7 before restricting the Three Lions to 165/6. In their opening match, Australia defeated Oman by 39 runs after posting 164/5 in their 20 overs. A win on Wednesday will take the Men in Yellow to the Super Eight stage with a game in hand.
Meanwhile, Namibia won their opening match against Oman in the Super Over after failing to reach a paltry target of 110 on a tough track. However, they couldn't build on this win, having suffered a defeat in their next game versus Scotland. The European nation chased down a 156-run target with five wickets and nine balls to spare.

The average first innings score is 138. Teams will have to make good use of the powerplay and score as many runs as possible. Scoring in the latter stages of the innings isn't going to be easy as the ball would get softer and the pitch can also slow down.

Head-to-Head Record

Probable Playing XIs:
Australia (AUS)

Namibia (NAM)
JP Kotze, Niko Davin, Jan Frylinck, Gerhard Erasmus (C), Malan Kruger, Zane Green (WK), David Wiese, Ruben Trumpelmann, JJ Smit, Bernard Scholtz, Tangeni Lungameni
AUS vs NAM Probable Best Performers of the Match:
Probable Best Batter - Marcus Stoinis
Marcus Stoinis was in fine form during the Indian Premier League 2024 and is continuing his purple patch in the World Cup. In two games, he has scored 97 runs at an average of 97 and a strike rate of 183.02. With Glenn Maxwell being in woeful touch, Stoinis' form will give Australian fans a lot of relief.
Probable Best Bowler - Mitchell Starc
Mitchell Starc won the Player of the Match award in his last two IPL 2024 games and helped Kolkata Knight Riders win the coveted title. He had a good encounter against Oman, picking up two wickets in three overs. However, against England, he went wicketless, conceding 37 runs. Starc can be lethal with the new ball against the Namibian batters. If the African side can keep him and Josh Hazlewood at bay in the powerplay, they will stand in good stead.
