Sydney Thunder Women will clash with defending champions Perth Scorchers Women in the seventh match of the ongoing Women's Big Bash League 2022 (WBBL) tournament at the Blacktown International Sportspark in Sydney on Sunday (October 16). Samantha Bates and Chloe Tryon took two wickets each to restrict Hurricanes to only 125/5 while bowling first but Thunder batters managed to score only 106/9 runs in response with Tahlia Wilson scoring the highest - 26 runs off 30 balls.

Perth Scorchers won the last edition of the tournament with a dominant all-round display throughout the season. Beth Mooney topped the scoring charts with 547 runs from 14 innings and Heather Graham took 18 wickets last year for them. They have drafted in Maddy Green and Holly Ferling in place of legendary Sri Lankan all-rounder Chamari Athapaththu and Graham this season.
