Aaron George had to deal with a fierce blow on the helmet off the bowling of Ali Raza during Match 5 of the ACC Men's U19 Asia Cup 2025 between India U19 and Pakistan U19 at the ICC Academy in Dubai on December 14. The incident occurred on the second delivery of the 14th over with George batting on 41.
The 17-year-old right-arm fast bowler bowled a quick delivery which hit George on the helmet. The top-order batter went down in pain and was immediately attended by the team physiotherapist. A mandatory concussion test followed after which George was back on his feet.
George, who had started the tournament brightly with a 69 off 73 against UAE U19, continued his good form, reaching his half-century with a single in the 22nd over of the Indian innings.
Earlier, Pakistan U19 won the toss and opted to field firs. The 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who toppled all sorts of records during his 95-ball 171-run knock in the tournament-opening clash, was dismissed for only five while skipper Ayush Mhatre, who looked set for a big score, was dismissed for a 25-ball 38.
Niqab Shafiq picked two wickets in his first three overs to get rid of Vihaan Malhotra (12 off 16) and Vedant Trivedi (7 off 22). The left-arm spinner had registered figures of 1/4 in 3.4 overs in Pakistan U19's match against Malaysia U19 a few days back.

Speaking of the ongoing match, the contest in Dubai has been reduced to a 49-overs-a-side match due to a slight rain delay.
