Afghanistan Under-19 player Barkat Ibrahimzai has become the center of attention following his appearance in the Under-19 match against Bangladesh, which Afghanistan lost by five runs (DLS method) on October 28, 2025, in Bogra. While the match itself did not make major headlines, Ibrahimzai’s appearance has certainly stirred discussions among fans and cricket observers.
During the game, when Ibrahimzai came out to bat, the on-screen graphics displayed his profile, identifying him as a 19-year-old all-rounder. However, viewers on social media quickly began questioning his age after noticing that his facial features and overall appearance seemed more mature than what is typically expected of an Under-19 player.
The observation led to widespread curiosity and debate online, with fans posting screenshots and memes featuring Ibrahimzai. His image soon went viral, sparking a wave of reactions from cricket enthusiasts around the world.

Speaking about the match, Afghanistan Under-19 posted a competitive 265/9 in their first innings AS Uzairullah Niazai starred with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 140 off 137 balls, which included 16 fours and one six. The rest of the batters chipped in with handy contributions to help the visitors reach a solid total.
From the Bangladesh bowling unit, Iqbal Hossain Emon impressed with figures of 5/57 in his 10-over spell, including a maiden. Rizan Hossan also picked up 2/54, supporting well from the other end. Rain interruptions during the innings break led to a revised target under the DLS method, with Bangladesh set to chase 227 runs in 46 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh chased down the target courtesy of a brilliant 101 off 119 balls by Kalam Siddiki, featuring 11 fours. Rizan Hossan continued his fine all-round performance, adding an unbeaten 75 off 96 balls to guide the hosts home. From the Afghanistan bowling attack, Wahidullah Zadran was the most successful, claiming 2/47.
Iqbal Hossain Emon was adjudged the Player of the Match for his five-wicket haul that set up Bangladesh’s victory. With this win, the hosts took a 1–0 lead in the Youth ODI series, with the second match scheduled for October 31 at the same venue in Bogra.
