The USA became the 16th and final team to qualify for the 2026 Under-19 Men’s World Cup, rounding out the line-up for the 50-over tournament, which will be co-hosted by Zimbabwe and Namibia. As a Full Member nation, Zimbabwe earns automatic qualification alongside the top ten teams from the 2024 edition of the tournament.

Among the directly qualified sides are the previous edition’s finalists, India and Australia, as well as Bangladesh, England, Ireland, Pakistan, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, South Africa, and West Indies. These teams secured their spots based on past performances and Full Member status, ensuring a strong, competitive field for the 2026 edition.

The remaining five places were determined through regional qualifying events. In the Africa Qualifier, Tanzania first defeated Namibia and then secured their World Cup spot with a dominant win over Kenya. Namibia, despite being one of the co-hosts, will miss out on the tournament due to their failure to advance in the qualifiers, as automatic qualification only applies to Full Member host nations.

Afghanistan booked their place in the World Cup via the Asia Qualifier, edging out Nepal on net run-rate (NRR) after their final match, which could have decided the qualifier, was washed out. Japan clinched the East Asia-Pacific Qualifier, marking a historic qualification for the region, while Scotland secured the Europe Qualifier with a tense final-day victory against the Netherlands. Finally, the USA topped the Americas Qualifier, defeating Canada, Bermuda, and Argentina to claim the last spot in the 16-team event.

Once the tournament begins, the 16 teams will be divided into four groups, with the top three from each group advancing to the Super Sixes stage. From there, the top two teams from each Super Sixes group will progress to the semi-finals, culminating in the final showdown for the coveted Under-19 World Cup trophy.
