Kris Srikkanth highlighted Travis Head's struggles with the bat during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). On Monday, May 18, SRH faced the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. On a sluggish surface, Head was dismissed by Mukesh Choudhary for a run-a-ball six. However, Ishan Kishan and Heinrich Klaasen played brilliant knocks as the visitors romped home with five wickets and an over to spare.
By winning the match on Monday, the Orange Army booked its ticket to the IPL playoffs. However, Head's form is going to be a concern for them in the business end of the tournament. He has score 367 runs in 13 innings at an average of 28.23. The southpaw has registered only two half-centuriees so far.
"Spencer Johnson bowled brilliantly to them. Head has been a disaster this entire season. All he has done is play one fluke knock against MI. Travis Head is in the same form as Ruturaj Gaikwad, playing horribly. He's just swinging the bat with no clue," Srikkanth said in a video on his YouTube channel.
Abhishek Sharma also had a rough night on Monday, as he faced 21 balls for his 26-run knock. Srikkanth mentioned that the Punjab batter looked in trouble when the balls were bowled into his body.
"Abhishek Sharma is not looking confident at all. He is not able to hit when the ball is bowled into his body. All his initial boundaries were off edges. There was nothing convincing," Srikkanth said.

Srikkanth was effusive in his praise for Kishan, who scored 70 off just 47 balls on a difficult track. The former India opener described Kishan's effort as one of the best knocks of IPL 2026.
When MSD went on lap of honour, he didn't look happy: Ashwin
"Kishan played one of the best knocks of this year's IPL. It wasn't an easy wicket at all. He wasn't able to strike the ball well in his first 25 runs. Once he crossed 30, he joined Klaasen and just exploded," said Srikkanth (via the aforementioned source).
