Australian cricketer Alyssa Healy has revealed that she would choose MS Dhoni over Adam Gilchrist for wicketkeeping advice. The 35-year-old explained that her choice was simply driven by a desire to try "something new", as she has already had plenty of conversations with Gilchrist in the past.

Healy acknowledged that while Gilchrist has been a great source of insight, she is now keen to learn from Dhoni’s unique perspective and experience behind the stumps.

"MS Dhoni. Because I have never actually had any keeping advice from him whereas I've spoken a lot to Gilly. So I'll go MS Dhoni. (With Gilchrist) I feel like I have exhausted all I can so let's try something new," Healy said on LiSTNR Sport.

Dhoni and Gilchrist are widely regarded as two of the finest wicketkeepers the game has ever seen. The former Indian captain finished his international career with 829 dismissals, comprising 634 catches and an incredible 195 stumpings. Gilchrist ended with a higher tally of 905 dismissals, which included 813 catches and 92 stumpings.

Speaking of Dhoni, he recently made headlines as opened up about his future with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ahead of the 2025 season, the CSK management retained the veteran for INR 4 crore under the ‘uncapped player’ category. When regular captain Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out midway through the season due to an injury, the 44-year-old stood up and lead the side once again.

Since the end of the 2025 season, speculation has been rife about whether Dhoni will return for the IPL 2026, with fans and cricket pundits eagerly awaiting confirmation.

"Me and CSK, we are together. You know even for the next 15-20 years (crowd cheers). I hope they don't think I'll be playing for another 15-20 years! But yeah,” Dhoni said as quoted by Hindustan Times.

“It's not about one year or two years. I will always be sitting in a yellow jersey. You know whether I’ll be playing or not in a while, but yeah, you know yourself,” he added.
