Haryana's fast bowler, Anshul Kamboj, made his much-awaited international debut for India in the fourth Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester on July 22, 2025. The selection came after a string of injuries in the Indian squad, with Kamboj being called up as a late cover, after he had consistently performed for India A and in the domestic circuit.
Born on December 6, 2000, in Karnal, Haryana, Kamboj’s cricketing short career has seen several milestones, including a rare 10-wicket haul in an innings against Kerala in Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Earlier, in the 2023-24 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he bagged 17 wickets, and in the 2024-25 Vijay Hazare Trophy, he finished among the leading wicket-takers with 17 dismissals in ten games. His performances played a big role in guiding Haryana to their first title in the competition. He has also seen the glamour of IPL, representing Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings, respectively.

Anshul first made headlines in the IPL during the 2023 season, where he was picked up by the Mumbai Indians for INR 20 lakh. He featured in only three games and picked up two wickets.
