Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan mocked Pakistan cricketer Haris Rauf after he was dismissed by Jasprit Bumrah, who celebrated with a gesture similar to the one Rauf had made in the previous clash versus India. The Asia Cup 2025 final took place on Sunday, September 28, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Pakistan were bowled out for 146 in 19.1 overs, with India’s spin trio dismantling the opposition and taking control of the game.

Indian pacer Bumrah played a crucial role in the death overs, dismissing Rauf in the eighteenth over. Charging in to bowl his third over, the right-arm pacer delivered a searing full-length ball that shattered Rauf’s stumps. This wicket, Bumrah’s first of the match after conceding 18 runs in his earlier overs, drew a fighter jet celebration. Pathan tweeted on X, ‘Flight land kara di Bumrah ne [Bumrah has landed the flight]’.

Farhan keeps it simple after fifty in Asia Cup final

Pakistan started strongly, with openers Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman putting together an 84-run partnership for the first wicket. However, after the early flourish, wickets fell at regular intervals, leaving the middle and lower order struggling to build momentum and allowing India to regain control.

Kuldeep Yadav’s brilliant left-arm spin completely outclassed Pakistan’s batting line-up. He claimed four crucial wickets, including three in a single over, finishing with figures of 4/30. Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel also contributed two wickets each, complementing Bumrah’s performance and effectively stifling any resistance.

With Pakistan all out for 146, India were set a target of 147 in the summit clash. The Men in Blue aim to clinch their record-extending ninth Asia Cup title, while Pakistan will look to counter with a strong bowling performance to lift the trophy for only the third time, having last won it in 2012.

India’s spin dominance and Bumrah’s lethal death bowling set the stage for a thrilling chase, with the Dubai crowd eagerly watching to see if the Men in Blue can maintain their continental supremacy or if Pakistan can stage an upset.
