Sahibzada Farhan played a fantastic knock in the Super-Four fixture between India and Pakistan at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 21. However, more than his innings, what is being discussed and dissected is his controversial celebration after getting to his half-century.

Farhan held his bat like a gun and pointed to the dug out and mimicked as if he was firing it. This provocative gesture caused severe uproar on social media.

Speaking at the press conference for the clash between Sri Lanka and Pakistan, Farhan commented on the celebration and said it was something he did at the moment. However, he showed no signs of repentance for his actions. Instead, he said that he focuses on playing aggressive cricket against whichever opposition he is up against.

"I think, if you talk about the sixes, you will see that (a lot) in the future. And that (celebration) was just a moment at that time. I do not do a lot of celebrations after scoring 50. But, it suddenly came to my mind that let's do a celebration today. I did that. I don't know how people will take it. I don't care about that. And the rest, you know, you should play aggressive cricket wherever you play. It is not necessary that it is India. You should play aggressive cricket against every team, like we played today,” said Farhan.

Farhan slammed 58 off 45 balls, hitting five fours and three sixes. His knock paved the way for Pakistan to post a competitive 171-run total in 20 overs. In reply, Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill added a 105-run stand inside 10 overs to make things easier for the batters to follow.

Abhishek top-scored for India as the Men in Blue chased the target in 18.5 overs with six wickets to spare. Shubman and Tilak Varma contributed with knocks of 47 (28) and 30* (19), respectively. This was the second time India defeated Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup.
