India emerged victorious against Pakistan by five wickets and two balls to spare in the Asia Cup 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday, September 28. With this, they defeated their arch-rivals thrice in this installment and won their ninth Asia Cup title.

Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and similar to the Super Four clash, opted to field first. Pakistan had a wicketless powerplay as 45 runs were scored within the phase. Sahibzada Farhan got to his fifth T20I half-century a few overs later before Varun Chakravarthy landed the first blow by dismissing Farhan. His dismissal opened the gates for India as Pakistan slipped from 107/1 in 12 overs to losing half their side by the 16th over.

Kuldeep Yadav struck thrice in his fourth over to completely dent the opposition, ending up with a four-wicket haul (4/30 in 4 overs). Jasprit Bumrah picked up the last two wickets to bundle out Pakistan for 146 in 19.1 overs. Barring the top three batters, none of Pakistan's players could register double digits, with spinners picking up eight of the 10 wickets.

Unlike Pakistan, the Men in Blue had a shaky start, losing three wickets within the first four overs of the chase. By the halfway mark, India reached 58/3 with 89 required from the final half of the innings. Sanju Samson (24 off 21) was the fourth wicket to fall after adding a crucial 57 runs off 50 balls with Tilak. Shivam Dube arrived at the crease to give company to Tilak next.

The duo added a match-winning 60 runs for the fifth wicket. The momentum entirely shifted in India's favour courtesy of a 17-run Haris Rauf over, taking them to 100 in 15 overs. Varma brought up his half-century with a single in 16th over. Shaheen Shah Afridi completed his quota by the end of the 17th over, with 17 required off the final two overs. Rinku, playing his first ball in the tournament, finished off with a boundary off. Varma remained not-out on 69 off 53 balls.
