The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) faced a huge monetary setback as it had to lose its lead sponsor Dream11 following the acceptance of the Online Gaming Bill in the parliament a week ago. This has resulted in an early exit of the renowned fantasy sports platform as the Indian cricket team's sponsor in a deal that had amounted to INR 358 crore at the time of signing. However, the BCCI has reportedly set its sight on getting a new sponsor.

Currently, the BCCI is looking for a sponsor before the start of the Men's T20 Asia Cup 2025, which commences on September 9. There is an upcoming Women's ODI World Cup as well, which India Women will co-host alongside Sri Lanka, starting September 30. Therefore, the apex cricketing body of the country is scratching its heads over onboarding a new lead sponsor.

According to NDTV, the new deal with the new lead sponsor could be priced at a whopping INR 450 crore, up by more than 25 per cent from the one with Dream11, that ended approximately a year before the originally decided term of three years. Sources in the know have confirmed that the Indian team will be getting INR 3.5 crore per bilateral match for roughly 140 matches till 2028, while multinational events will bring INR 1.5 crore per game.
