During the Legends League Cricket 2023 (LLC 2023), the India Capitals suffered a surprising defeat against Manipal Tigers, losing by six wickets in a one-sided match. However, the real drama of the game unfolded with skipper Gautam Gambhir's run-out for ten runs in his final game.

Gambhir was attempting a quick single at cover point when Amitoze Singh delivered a precise throw, leaving the veteran cricketer short of the crease. This concluded Gambhir's tournament journey with just ten runs off five balls, accumulating a total of 144 runs from six matches and featuring two half-centuries.

After the match, S Sreesanth stirred up controversy on social media with a controversial celebration. The fast bowler, amidst an ongoing feud with Gambhir, posted a screenshot of the run-out moment on his Instagram story, congratulating the fielder. He posted a story and wrote, "Beautiful Throw, Well Done Amitoze" on his Instagram.

The feud between the two players originated from Sreesanth's allegations that Gambhir had labeled him a fixer. The tension escalated with both players and even Sreesanth's wife engaging in a war of words on various platforms.

Sreesanth accused Gambhir of crossing the boundaries of sportsmanship and brotherhood, leading to an ugly off-field battle. Despite this, Gambhir chose to remain silent on the controversy during the game, focusing on discussing his team's performance in the post-match presentation.

You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother: Sreesanth

After Sreesanth's video, Gambhir shared a photo of himself donning an Indian jersey, accompanied by the caption, “Smile when the world is all about attention!” The caption seemed to be a subtle jab at the escalating situation with Sreesanth.

In response to the post, Sreesanth commented, “You have exceeded the boundaries of a sportsman and a brother, and above all, you represent the people. Yet, you continue to engage in conflicts with every cricketer. What is the matter with you? All I did was smile and observe, and you labeled me a fixer? Seriously? Are you above the Supreme Court? You have no authority to speak in such a manner and say whatever you please. You even verbally abused the umpires, and yet you speak of smiling? You are an arrogant and utterly classless individual who lacks any form of respect for those who supported you.”

“Until yesterday, I always held respect for you and your family. However, you used the derogatory term “fixer” not just once, but seven or eight times. You even resorted to using the F-word towards the umpires and myself, persistently trying to provoke me. Anyone who has experienced what I have endured would never forgive you. Deep down, you know that what you said and did was wrong. I’m sure even God won't forgive you. You didn’t even come to the field after that. Come on, God is watching everything,” the 40-year-old said.
