Cricketer KL Rahul and Bollywood celebrity Athiya Shetty have been dating for quite a few years now and since then there have been talks of the duo’s marriage. Finally, according to reports and sources, the couple are getting married on January 23 at the Suniel Shetty's family house in Khandala.

KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty plan to host a big wedding bash for friends and colleagues only post the IPL. Videos of both Athiya and Rahul’s house have been surfacing over the internet for quite some time now. KL Rahul’s home has been lit up with lights and decorations signalling a wedding. Rahul has also opted for leave from the current India-New Zealand series owing to family commitments.

A source clarifies, “Videos and pictures of decorations around a Bandra building are being shared attributing it to the couple’s wedding celebrations. That’s not even where they live. That’s for a different wedding.”

Since most of the friends and colleagues of the Indian cricket team's deputy are busy with the current home season, there are rumours that there might be a big wedding bash after the IPL is over at the end of May. Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli who are among the closest friends of the groom will be in Indore preparing for the third and final ODI between India and New Zealand.

A friend told the media that, “Given the hectic cricket schedules, a wedding bash has been planned for the film industry and cricket bigwigs after the IPL wraps up in May. While the wedding is on January 23, guests are slated to arrive from January 21 onwards. Since the media got the whiff of the wedding ahead of a formal announcement, special arrangements are in place for the paparazzi at the venue, we hear."

The Mangalore-born will be back in action in no time since he will be up against Australia in the broadly important Border-Gavaskar trophy. Indian fans would be hoping that he regains his form in tests and can be a vital part of the test team once again. He has been announced as the vice-captain for the four-match test series so he has a lot to ponder upon before the series begins.
