Former England cricketer Jonathan Trott unintentionally revealed star Indian batter Virat Kohli's residential address in London during a post-match discussion. The incident took place after India’s historic 336-run victory over England at Edgbaston on July 6.
India’s win at Edgbaston was their first at the iconic venue, making them the first Asian team to do so. The victory was also significant as it was the team's first major Test outing after the retirement of stalwarts like Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravichandran Ashwin. Under the captaincy and solid batting of Shubman Gill, along with match-winning spells from Akash Deep and Mohammed Siraj, the team made a resounding comeback to level the series, 1-1.
Meanwhile, during the post-match discussion on Sony Sports Network, Trott spoke about Kohli's post for the Indian team and pointed out that the 36-year-old might be missing the dressing room. While doing so, Trott accidentally gave the batting maestro's London address.
“Doesn’t he live in St. John’s Wood or nearby? Can he not be persuaded to come back? Coming back to Virat Kohli's tweet, no wonder he misses that dressing room feeling. I sometimes wonder how quickly that feeling comes back after you give up the game,” Trott said.

Great victory for India at Edgbaston: Kohli
Notably, according to The Telegraph report, Kohli lives in Notting Hill, and St. John's Wood is just 2.5 miles away. Since he retired from Tests and T20Is, Kohli has largely stayed away from the media. His last public appearance was during RCB’s controversial IPL victory parade.
Since then, he’s been residing in the UK with his family. Ahead of the India-England Test series, he even hosted a few Indian players at his London residence. Post India's emphatic win at Edgbaston, he congratulated the team's performance, especially Gill’s leadership and the brilliance of Akash and Siraj with the ball.
"Great victory for India at Edgbaston. Fearless and kept pushing England to the wall. Brilliantly led by Shubhman with the bat and in the field and impactful performances from everyone. Special mention to Siraj and Akash for the way they bowled on this pitch," he wrote in his post on X.
