Old Trafford, Manchester—one of the oldest cricketing venues in the world, is all set to host the two fiercest competitors in a thrilling game of Test cricket as the fourth match of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 between England and India gets underway here on Wednesday, July 23. This will be the penultimate tie of the five-match series, where the hosts are currently leading with a 2-1 margin, following their win at the Lord's in the third Test. India, on the other hand, will be entering this ground with a dual goal of not only going even-steven in the series, but also winning their first-ever Test match at this venue.

Old Trafford, Manchester Pitch Report

The pitch at the Old Trafford is expected to carry a lot of moisture on the surface because of the atmosphere going around in the city of Manchester for the last few days, and the forecasted weather as well. Historically, the ground has offered a great amount of assistance to the batters early on. However, bowlers have certainly dominated in the later parts of the game. In the last 10 matches played here, teams batting first have won eight games, while one match went in a draw. As a result, chasing is not an ideal option at the venue, and the captains will keep this in mind while going for the coin toss.

Old Trafford, Manchester Weather Forecast

On the eve of the game, the weather was mostly overcast around the venue. On the Tuesday morning, there was a steady shower experienced as well. However, the next five days show a slightly better forecast. The temperatures are expected to remain between 13–21 degrees. On top of that, the chances of rain on Day 1 of the game go as high as 25 per cent, according to Google Weather. The precipitation is expected to cause little disruptions in the game on the second and third day as well, but the conditions are slated to be slightly better on the final couple of days of the game. While the clouds are expected to dominate the first and the second day, they will be offered resistance from Day 3 onwards.
