Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has issued a statement for basic respect and dignity after paparazzi photographed his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma, in what he described as an 'extremely disrespectful' manner. In a social media statement, Hardik condemned the intrusive behaviour, stating that while public figures may accept criticism as part of their lives, there are clear boundaries that should never be crossed.

Hardik and Mahieka's relationship has been under public attention ever since the cricketer made it official in October 2025. The couple has been spotted together at events, airports, and social media posts, drawing immense eyeballs. Mahieka, a 24-year-old award-winning model and yoga trainer, has quickly gained popularity among fans. However, the unfortunate incident took place on Tuesday, when Mahieka was leaving a Bandra restaurant, when photographers captured her from an inappropriate angle. The images and videos soon went viral, leading Hardik to publicly call out the behaviour and demand accountability. 

"I understand that living in the public eye comes with attention and scrutiny, it's part of the life I've chosen. But today something happened that crossed a line. Mahieka was simply walking down a staircase at a Bandra restaurant when paparazzi decided to capture her from an angle that no woman deserves to be photographed from. A private moment was turned into cheap sensationalism. This isn't about headlines or who clicked what, it's about basic respect. Women deserve dignity. Everyone deserves boundaries. To the media brothers who work hard every day: I respect your hustle, and I always cooperate. But I'm requesting you all, please be a little more mindful. Not everything needs to be captured. Not every angle needs to be taken. Let's keep some humanity in this game. Thank you," Hardik wrote in an Instagram story.
