Former Indian Bowling Coach Bharat Arun to run a 2-week program to raise Sri Lankan fast bowling standards

Bharat Arun is set to work with the Sri Lankan cricket team for 2 weeks to improve their fast bowling standards. Starting from June 2, the former Indian bowling coach will work with the Sri Lankan fast bowlers on some aspects of their bowling. His move comes following R Sridhar's 10-day program to help Sri Lanka improve their fielding.
The Sri Lankan cricket team released a press release and confirmed the news. In their statement, SLC claimed that Arun will work for 14 days to enhance the standards of the Sri Lankan pacers at both junior and senior levels. The statement added that Arun will work with the Men's and the Women's teams at the U-19 level, A teams, and the coaches of the performance centres.

"He will run a 14-day program aimed at further enhancing the standards of Sri Lankan fast bowlers across junior and senior squads at the high-performance centre. He will work with the Sri Lanka national men's and women's teams, the women's 'A' team, the U19 men's team, coaches of the high performance centre, club and provincial coaches, and coach-educators during his stay here in the country," SLC claimed in their statement.
He will conduct separate strategy sessions with the men's red-ball and white-ball teams: Sri Lanka Cricket
The statement further confirmed that separate sessions will be conducted to help the bowlers evolve in red-ball and white-ball games. The focus is likely to be on technical and skill-based training, scenario-based evaluation, video and performance analysis, and match situation understanding.
"He will conduct separate strategy sessions with the men's red-ball and white-ball teams, hold technical and skill-based training with fast bowlers, hold video and performance analysis sessions with players and coaches, and also match scenarios to develop 'game' understanding," SLC added.
Arun worked as the Indian bowling coach from 2014 to 2021, which witnessed the best fast bowling exponents India has ever witnessed to date. While Ishant Sharma, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were at their peak, the team also witnessed the influx of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
