Lucknow Super Giants assistant coach S Sriram is confident of their chances to make it to the playoffs of the ongoing IPL 2024. The KL Rahul-led side was third on the points table on Sunday, but a huge defeat at the hands of Kolkata Knight Riders changed things as they are currently in sixth. They need to win their remaining games to stay in the hunt to make it to the top four, but beating Sunrisers Hyderabad on their home turf might not be easy.

After a crushing defeat at the hands of KKR, Sriram mentioned that the spinners haven’t played a significant role in the tournament as the surfaces have hugely favoured the batters. However, he is happy with the progress of Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya and added that Lucknow have no reason to worry about it at the moment. He also noted that in a long tournament, every team would go ups and downs but he believes that LSG have experienced players who can deal with every situation.

Some games you are going to win big, some games you are going to lose - LSG Coach S Sriram

“I think in general, spinners have had a tough time in this tournament. Wickets have been so good and the scores have been high. But, I think given our spinners, Ravi Bishnoi has bowled really well in the last couple of games. Krunal Pandya has been very good throughout, so I think we don't really have reasons to worry about it,” India Today quoted Sriram as saying.

“Some games you are going to win big, some games you are going to lose. And, there are going to be tight games. So, in a 14-game competition, I think you take every win and loss in the same way. Just learn and move on. Pressure is the same for everyone. It is how we deal with it on a given day. I think we have got experienced enough players to deal with it,” he added.

Both teams have played 11 matches each so far in the league and need to do well in the business end of the tournament to make it to the playoffs.
