‘He had Dhoni, my life's scenario was different’ - Ahmed Shehzad opens up on comparisons with Virat Kohli

Team India star Virat Kohli has regained form and has lit up the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2022. The flamboyant batter is currently the highest run-getter in the tournament with 246 runs in just five appearances .

Kohli made a brilliant comeback against Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022 after a short sabbatical. He then went on to achieve a similar feat, yet again against arch-rivals Pakistan in the World Cup as he led India to a memorable victory at MCG. Meanwhile, one Pakistan batter who has been compared with the team India star is Ahmed Shehzad, who recenlty termed such as "unfair".

“The comparisons go against you. In the space of two matches, you start making exaggerated comparisons. It isn't possible, because we are two different individuals, leading two different lives,” said Shehzad in a video uplaoded by Cricket Pakistan.

Shehzad further stated that Kohli was lucky to have MS Dhoni, who took him under his wing and supported  the youngster during his stint in the national side. “His life is different. He had Dhoni, my life's scenario was different. I've said this earlier, you can have two things – either you can have support from everyone, or when everyone is trying to keep you out,” he added.

While Shehzad has been sweating it out in the domestic circuit, earning a call up from the national side may by tricky. His inconsistency has kept him in the sidelines as he has not represented the team in a Test match or an ODI since 2017. On the other hand, Kohli has been the main man for the Men in Blue over the years and has established himself as one of the most important members of the team.

India play England in the forthcoming semi-final of the showpiece event and Kohli will look to maintain his terrific form for the side.
