'He just told me don't think much' - Rinku Singh reveals MS Dhoni's priceless advice

Kolkata Knight Riders are currently placed sixth on the IPL 2023 points table with three matches to be played. The two-time IPL champions have to win all three of their remaining games so that they stand a chance of qualification into the playoffs.

KKR seem to have picked up their momentum at the right time winning the last 3 out of their 4 games. One of the key performers for the KKR has been Rinku Singh who also happens to be their leading run scorer. 

The southpaw has enjoyed a tremendous run in the tournament so far scoring 337 runs at a healthy average of 56.16 at an impressive strike rate of 151.12. Rinku is slowly and steadily making a name for himself as a finisher with some of his crucial knocks in the tournament which also involved his heroics against Gujarat Titans where he smashed five sixes on the last five deliveries to win KKR the match.

The 25-year-old Uttar Pradesh-born cricketer did not even miss the chance to pick brains from MS Dhoni, the last time CSK played KKR at Eden Gardens. Rinku said that MS Dhoni is among the best finishers that the world has ever seen. He also added that the CSK captain advised him to play the balls on merit and not try to overdo them.

"He's the world's best finisher I just asked 'Bhaiya' what else I could do while I'm going to bat. He just told me don't think much, just wait for the ball and play according to it," Rinku was quoted as saying by India Today.

 I want to play simple shots: Rinku Singh

Rinku has been in sublime form in the IPL 2023 as he has been in full flow in the season and also has been striking at an astonishing strike rate of over 200 in the 20^th over of the innings. "I want to play simple shots. I don't want to play extravagant shots. I play according to balls and as per the situation. All players work on their own shots, and I try to be very simple," he added.

KKR are set to play Rajasthan Royals at Eden Gardens on May 11 and will be looking to secure a win over the previous year’s runner-ups which will be resulting them moving onto the 3^rd spot on the point table.
