'I didn't see this tweet so I have no knowledge of it' - Babar Azam reacts to Pakistan PM's belittling tweet after India's semifinal ouster

Pakistan skipper Babar Azam has said that he has no clue about what his country's Prime Minister had tweeted about the Indian team following their (India's) humiliating ten-wicket loss to England in the second semifinals of the ICC  T20 World Cup 2022 at the Adelaide Oval on Thursday, November 10. 

It so happened that following India's semifinal ouster from the tournament, Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif took a dig at the Men in Blue saying, "So, this Sunday, it’s: 152/0 vs 170/0."

While the English duo of skipper Jos Buttler and Alex Hales stitched an unbeaten 170-run opening stand in the semis chasing 169, the 152/0 was in reference to Pakistan’s emphatic ten-wicket win over their arch-rivals in the previous edition in Dubai. That victory also succeeded in breaking Pakistan’s almost 29-year-old World Cup jinx against India.

"There is no pressure as such. But, sorry to say I didn't see this tweet so I have no knowledge of it. But yes, we just try to give our best against the opposition," Babar Azam told reporters ahead of the T20 World Cup final clash against England.

England’s clinical performance in the semis meant that they set up a final date against the Men in Green at the MCG on Sunday, November 13 in what is a repeat of the summit clash of the 1992 50-overs World Cup.

Meanwhile,  Babar Azam seems to be regaining his lost touch at the right time at the business end of the tournament. He scored his first half-century of the competition and laid a solid foundation for Pakistan adding 105 runs for the opening stand chasing 153 in the semi-final against New Zealand.

The batting sensation would be hoping to score a big one in the final against a lethal English bowling attack at the Melbourne Cricket Ground this weekend. Pakistan have made their first-ever World Cup final appearance after a wait of 13 long years and would now be eager to go all the way.
