Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra voiced his stance on wicketkeeper-batter Sanju Samson’s dismal performances in the first two T20Is and stated that the latter will need to grab the opportunity with both hands.

Notably, Samson compiled paltry scores of 12 and seven runs, respectively, across the two T20Is. While previewing the third T20I, cricketer-turned-broadcaster Aakash Chopra outlined the game’s significance for Samson and added that Jitesh Sharma could make the cut in the XI if the keeper-batter fails to perform in the forthcoming contest.

"Sanju Samson - don't waste your chance. If you waste your chance, you will remember it later. It is not that if Ishan Kishan goes from the top, Sanju cannot go from below. Both can go, and Jitesh Sharma can come,” Aakash told on his YouTube channel.

It is worth mentioning that the Men in Blue endured a narrow loss at the hands of the Windies in the second T20I. In the process, the Rovman Powell-led side extended their lead 2-0 in the five-match series. India and the Windies will next lock horns in the third T20I on Tuesday, August 8.

Suryakumar Yadav getting out didn't really work out for India in second T20I: Aakash Chopra

Chopra further reflected on Suryakumar Yadav’s run-out, which left India reeling early on in the contest. For the unversed, Suryakumar looked to take on the bowlers; however, his innings came to a conclusion while taking a quick single.

The incident occurred in the third ball of the fourth over when Obed McCoy was up against Ishan Kishan and the latter dabbed the ball to square leg to take a quick single. However, in the process, Suryakumar, who was at the non-striker’s end, failed to reach the crease in time and was sent packing.

"Suryakumar Yadav, you can't doubt the player, got run out in one match. He should have said 'No' in the last match. It was a non-existent single. It was Ishan Kishan's mistake, in my opinion, but whoever gets out in the end is at fault. So, if Suryakumar had refused and in that if Ishan had gotten out, so be it. Surya getting out didn't really work out for India,” he added.
