India and Australia are locking horns in the third and final ODI of the series on Wednesday, September 27 at Saurashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Rajkot. Being 0-2 behind in the series, Australian captain Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bat first, and his batters responded as they posted a mammoth score of 352/7 in their allotted 50 overs.

In reply, India got off to a good start as openers Rohit Sharma and Washington Sundar added 74 runs for the first wicket off 65 balls. Skipper Rohit in particular looked in good touch as he raced to his half-century in just 31 balls. During his innings, he played some majestic pull shots, making the crowd drop their jaws in fascination.

One of his shots came against Pat Cummins in the seventh over of the innings as he pulled a rising short delivery by Pat Cummins on the fourth ball of the over. The Indian skipper gave a meaty blow to the delivery as it travelled over deep square leg for a six. He further launched his Australian counterpart into the stands on the last ball as well, bringing the crowd on the edge of their seats.

The Indian captain continued his innings and went on to score a quick-fire 81 off 57 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes in his innings. His innings came to an end courtesy of a one-handed stunner by Glenn Maxwell, taken off his own bowling in the 21st over. Sharma danced down the track to clobber Maxwell over his head but failed to get elevation as the ball stuck in Maxwell’s right hand.
