Former Indian captain Kris Srikkanth has advised Yashasvi Jaiswal to be more cautious while tackling short deliveries. Jaiswal has registered scores of 18 and 22 in the first two ODIs of the ongoing series against South Africa.

Srikkanth alluded to Jaiswal having a modest record while facing bouncers. He also felt Jaiswal wasted the starts he was able to get, hoping that the series-deciding clash on December 6 will be his moment to shine.

"Yes, going by the numbers, he (Jaiswal) has to be careful against bouncers. And against left-arm pacers, he needs to be wary. But he was playing well and started off well. Yet, Ruturaj took his opportunity with both hands but Yashasvi let it slip. He's again an all-format player. Maybe Vizag, it will be his day," stated Srikkanth in a video on his YouTube channel.

The 65-year-old commented that the opposition has found Jaiswal's weakness. To conclude, he advised the left-handed batter to be more aggressive than usual whenever a short ball is directed towards him.

"I wouldn't say he has a problem against the bouncer. It's just about how he adjusts himself. Everyone gets hit also and smashes sixes too against the bouncer. There are so many analysts and support staff. I am sure they'll tell him that he's being targeted there. He should be brave and go all-out against the bouncer. He's trying to keep it down but instead he should scoop it and lift it over," he added.

India posted 349 and 358 in their innings in Ranchi and Raipur, respectively. However, Jaiswal has not been amongst the runs in a way he would have liked. The series is levelled currently with both teams winning one game apiece.
