India cruise to glory undefeated at Asian Games 2023
Notably, the Indian women's team created history by becoming the first-ever gold medalists in the women's cricket event, which took place earlier in the competition. They defeated Bangladesh in the semi-final and went on to win the gold medal by overcoming Sri Lanka at the Zhejiang University Oval in Hangzhou. India's quarter-final match against Malaysia was washed out, and they advanced to the semi-finals due to their higher seeding.
Similarly, the men's team also started their campaign in the Asian Games 2023 from the quarter-final round due to their higher seeding. They faced Nepal in the quarter-final, winning the match by 23 runs, and in the semi-final, India played against Bangladesh, defeating them by nine wickets.
