Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Aminul Islam has stated that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is yet to confirm India’s tour of Bangladesh in August. According to Islam, the BCCI was going to take a decision on the tour after discussions with the Indian government.

BCCI had informed the BCB that India would tour the neighbouring nation during the next available window if they do not come in August. But, there was no proper reason provided as to why the uncertainty has arisen around the tour.

"I have already spoken to the BCCI. Discussions have been positive. We remain hopeful. It is scheduled [next month] but they are waiting for some decisions from the government," Islam said at a press conference in Dhaka after a six-hour meeting of the BCB’s board of directors.

"The discussions are ongoing. If for some reason they can't come [in August], they will come at the next available window. We are hopeful of playing in this window. I can't say much apart from the fact that they are very professional and cooperative," he added.

In April, the BCB had announced the schedule for India’s tour of Bangladesh for six white-ball games in August. The three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) will be played on August 17, 20 and 23, followed by T20Is on August 26, 29 and 31. The matches were to be held in Mirpur and Chattogram.

This marks India's first bilateral T20I series in Bangladesh. It is also the Men in Blue’s first white-ball-only tour to Bangladesh since 2014 when they travelled to play three ODIs. The upcoming tour will be the final preparation for the 2025 T20 Asia Cup, for which India are the hosts. The Asia Cup is most likely set to be conducted in September.
