Royal Challengers Bengaluru are all set to take on Chennai Super Kings in a do-or-die clash at the IPL (Indian Premier League) 2024. Both sides will lock horns in the 68th game of the tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday, May 18.

The clash will be crucial for both RCB and CSK. It is worth noting that a win for CSK or the abandonment of the game will mean that the five-time champions will qualify for the playoffs. However, the case is not that simple for RCB.

Currently, RCB has a net run rate of 0.387, whereas CSK has a net run rate of 0.528. For RCB to qualify for the playoffs, the side will have to beat Chennai in a way that helps them surpass the net run rate of the defending champions and qualify.

Ahead of the must-win game, the excitement is at an all-time high for Bengaluru. The fans in the city recently went viral after the RCB fans organised an early morning road show in support of RCB for their clash against CSK. The clip of the same has been going viral all over social media.

RCB-CSK battle it out for the fourth spot

Currently, three sides have qualified for the knockout rounds of the IPL 2024. Kolkata Knight Riders, Rajasthan Royals, and Sunrisers Hyderabad booked their berths in the playoffs of the competition after exceptional performances throughout the tournament.

With Lucknow Super Giants out of the running, the race for the playoffs comes down to CSK and RCB. As both sides battle it out in the 68th game of the competition, they will hope to register wins and hopefully make their way into the playoffs.

RCB are on a winning streak and have won their last five matches, and they will hope to maintain the winning run against Chennai as well.
