In a recent discussion, Gujarat Titans player Sai Kishore shed light on captain Shubman Gill and head coach Ashish Nehra's role in his own personal development and the impact both personalities play on the overall morale and the team culture in general.

Kishore was effusive in praise when it came to sharing Gill's situational awareness in addition to providing inputs while the former has been at the top of his mark during matches.

"Shubman has always been a very good reader of the game. When he bats, he understands the match situation well. He’s not just a talented player, but a very smart cricketer as well. He has helped me a lot as a spinner. Sometimes, you need those inputs from the captain or a senior cricketer. I have my own instincts, and backing that with Shubman’s game-reading really helps," shared Kishore with JioHotstar.

Always there to appreciate you, but he will also step in if you're going off track: Kishore

Kishore also noted the level-headed nature of Nehra and how the latter's demeanour ensured the team doesn't let their guard down.

"When Ashish Nehra is there, nobody can be complacent. Even after the last game against Mumbai Indians, he said we didn’t play well and need to improve in specific areas. There is no room for complacency because he’ll always let you know when something’s not right. He keeps things simple, straightforward, and to the point. He’s always there to appreciate you, but he will also step in if you're going off track. That way, everyone stays aligned to the team’s cause," added Kishore.
