Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone, Ravi Bishnoi, Venkatesh Iyer, Matheesha Pathirana and Wanindu Hasaranga are among 45 players who have listed themselves at the maximum reserve price of INR 2 crore for the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) auction.

As per ESPNcricinfo, a total of 1355 players have registered for the auction, and the longlist was shared with franchises on Monday following the November 30 deadline. With squads capped at 25 players each, a total of 77 slots, including 31 for overseas players, are available to be filled at the day-long auction scheduled in Abu Dhabi on December 16. Franchises have until December 5 to submit their wishlists, after which the IPL will prune the longlist into the final auction pool.

Among the players expected to draw significant attention is Australia’s allrounder Green, who skipped the 2025 mega-auction while recovering from a back injury. With Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) entering the auction with the largest purses, INR 64.3 crore and INR 43.4 crore respectively, and both possessing overseas slots, they are considered likely bidders for Green.

KKR, in particular, are seen as frontrunners after the recent IPL retirement of Andre Russell. The franchise released nine players, including Venkatesh Iyer, who had been bought for INR 23.5 crore last year, leaving them with 12 slots to fill, six of which are overseas. CSK, meanwhile, have nine vacancies, including four overseas positions.

Several players recently released by their franchises have also entered the top price bracket. This includes Sri Lankan fast bowler Pathirana, whom CSK retained for INR 13 crore last year but released amid concerns over his injury record. England allrounder Livingstone, bought by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for INR 8.75 crore before a disappointing season, has also listed himself in the INR 2 crore category. Indian players Iyer and Bishnoi, the latter previously retained by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) for INR 11 crore, have joined the bracket as well after their respective franchises moved on following inconsistent performances.

A notable omission from the longlist is Australian allrounder Glenn Maxwell, signed by Punjab Kings (PBKS) for INR 4.2 crore last year. Maxwell suffered a fractured finger during the 2025 season and was replaced by fellow Australian Mitchell Owen, who has been retained by PBKS. Another surprise development involves wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis, who played a key role in PBKS’ run to the final but has re-entered the auction pool. Inglis could not commit to the full 2026 IPL season for personal reasons, and the IPL has informed franchises that he will be available for only 25% of the season.
