England have just started their cricket summer of 2023, with a one off Test match against Ireland from June 1, at the renowned Lord's ground. Thereafter, their attention will shift to the coveted Ashes 2023 Test series against the arch-rivals, Australia. The hosts will hope to recapture the 'Urn' after suffering a humiliating series losss (4- 0) in the 2021/22 edition in down under. The series will begin from June 16, at Edgbaston.
Meanwhile, looking at England's record of past one year, they have played 12 games under Ben Stokes-Brendon McCullum regime, whereby, they picked up 10 wins. This shows their impeccable consistency along with playing a rather attacking style of cricket. However, the Australian Assistant coach, Daniel Vettori, insisted that there is more to it than playing an aggressive brand of cricket.
The Kiwi believes that it's England’s winning habit rather than their 'Bazball' style that has earned the respect of Australia ahead of this summer’s Ashes. Morever, he also commended the positive mindset of the England head coach, Brendon McCullum. Vettori feels that postivity has worked like a gravity for the English camp as they have attracted positive results for a rather extended time.
England is playing winning cricket: Vettori

Furthermore, Vettori lauded England's 'Never-Die' attitude which has reaped them postive rewards over time. Hence, the veteran Kiwi is expecting some explosive gameplay by the hosts. He believes England will not back out from attacking the Australian bowling lineup.

"Irrespective of the style they’re using, they’re playing winning cricket and that’s the thing everyone gravitates towards. The fact that they’ve played so well over an extended period of time has been what’s so impressive. Brendon wouldn’t want to make the attention about himself, but he’s got this moniker going for him now. That’s Brendan since he came out of the womb he’s pretty positive. England keep coming and so you’ve got to anticipate that and not back off," Vettori was quoted as saying by Independent.co.uk.

Furthermore, Ben Stokes has warned Australia he has ‘worked his nuts off’ to get back to his 2019 best after he transformed the England side leading from the front. He is confident that careful management and a period on the sidelines at the IPL has brought his fitness back to the level of his golden summer four years ago and will allow him to play a “full role” as an all-rounder in Test matches.

While England warm-up for the Ashes with a one-off Test against Ireland, Australia will face India in the ICC World Test Championship final at the Oval, which is starting on June 7.
