The three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have unveiled their new jersey ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026 season, introducing a design inspired by the theme “Lines of Legacy.” With IPL 2026 set to begin on March 28, the franchise revealed the fresh kit as part of its preparations for the upcoming campaign.

The jersey design pays tribute to several iconic moments in KKR’s history. From Brendon McCullum’s unforgettable 158* in the opening match of the inaugural IPL in 2008 to Rinku Singh’s sensational five sixes in the final over against Gujrat Titans, the design incorporates these memories through abstract linear patterns. The lines merge creatively to form the initials KKR, symbolising the journey and defining moments of the franchise.

Speaking about the concept behind the new jersey, Venky Mysore said the design reflects the team’s legacy and the memorable moments that have shaped its identity.

“The Lines of Legacy captures the essence of KKR's storied history and celebrates the journey of the team over the years. Each line represents a pivotal moment of brilliance, reflecting the energy and spirit that weaves together to form our identity. We are proud of this legacy that we have built and want to carry it into the upcoming season while creating more memories for our fans to cherish,” he was quoted as saying by My Khel.

The launch was supported by a social media campaign that generated significant buzz online, with the hashtag #LinesOfLegacy trending across platforms for nearly 48 hours. The campaign culminated in a promotional film titled ‘Kya Line Hai?’, featuring actor Rajat Bedi, comedian Anirban Dasgupta, and several Kolkata-based content creators.

Meanwhile, KKR are scheduled to open their 2026 campaign against archrivals Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on March 29. The Kolkata based franchise will also face Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants respectively. The schedule for the second phase is yet to be announced.
