Australian Wicketkeeper-batter, Alyssa Healy recently ignited a controversy by placing Virat Kohli at the bottom of the Fab Four, a group of contemporary batting greats that includes Joe Root, Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson. The 'Fab Four' phenomenon emerged in the early 2010s as these four batters began to dominate world cricket, drawing comparisons to legendary quartets of previous eras.
Over the past decade, Kohli, Root, Smith, and Williamson have not only led their respective national teams but have also registered their names in the history books with their extraordinary batting performances.
"They're all very great. But if I'm purely basing it on number, I'm going to put Kohli as fourth. But I actually rate him as No. 1 in everything else. But if you're basing it on number, Kohli is going to sit fourth for me. I'm looking at it analytically," Healy said on the 'LiSTNR Sport' podcast.
She explained her reason for placing the star batter in the fourth position as compared to others, Kohli has played in the most games and his numbers are still low.
"I think about how much cricket he plays and that's where I look at his stats. And they are remarkable based on the sheer amount of cricket he plays and the pressure he is under. But if I look at it analytically, he is going to sit fourth," she added.

Williamson has carried the whole New Zealand team: Alyssa Healy
Surprisingly, Healy crowned Kane Williamson as her top pick among the four. Her reasoning was on Williamson's role as the key member of New Zealand's batting lineup.
"Williamson has carried the whole New Zealand team, whereas, for Virat, he is the greatest player in the world, let's be real. But with him, it's like someone else is always there. Rohit Sharma can score hundreds. KL Rahul can score a 100. Even [Ravindra] Jadeja can score a 100 at No. 8. He has always got someone else, but I feel that if Williamson doesn't make those runs, New Zealand don't get anywhere near winning," Healy said further.

While many agree that Kohli is arguably the best white-ball batter among the four, his recent struggles in Test cricket have seen him fall behind his peers in the longest format. Root, in particular, has surged ahead in Test cricket, scoring runs and centuries at an impressive rate.
