Former Pakistan batter Ahmed Shehzad criticised the Indian team, stating that the Rohit Sharma-led side does not have a bowler who can constantly threaten the opposition. Notably, in the past decade, India have not won any ICC tournament, as they recently lost the finals of the World Test Championship to Australia.

Meanwhile, talking about the same, Shehzad stated that Indian batters look dangerous, but bowling looks ordinary. He, however, rated Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja as good bowlers but reminded that there have not been any dangerous bowlers.

“No disrespect to them. But there hasn't been any threatening bowler from India that the opposition batter is scared to play him. They have good bowlers like Bumrah, Jadeja and Ashwin, but there has not been a dangerous bowler as such. Their batters are dangerous,” said Shehzad while talking on Nadir Ali's podcast.

Notably, Bumrah is currently out of the Indian squad for almost a year as he is dealing with a stress fracture. The team management also decided to bench Mohammed Shami in the upcoming West Indies series, while Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma look far away from getting a spot.

Shoaib Akhtar never bowled unnecessary bouncers to the batters in the nets: Shehzad

Talking about former teammate Shoaib Akhtar, Shehzad stated that the ace pacer never bowled bouncers to batters in the nets. He added saying that Akhtar was aware of batters getting hurt and, thus, restricted himself. The 31-year-old also revealed that the former pacer never bowled a no-ball in the nets.

“I can't recollect any other bowler apart from Shoaib Akhtar. When I was new to the team, he was already The Shoaib Akhtar. He had 2 great qualities. First, he never bowled no-balls in the nets. Second, he never bowled unnecessary bouncers to the batters in the nets. He knew the batter would get hurt,” Shehzad added.

Notably, Akhtar represented Pakistan in 224 matches, picking up 444 wickets in the process.
