India’s new ball pair Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Siraj made Sri Lanka relive the horrors of the Asia Cup 2023 final during their ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 clash on Thursday, November 02 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. After being put in to bat first, India posted a mammoth total of 357/8 in their allotted 50 overs. In reply, speedster Jasprit Bumrah got the team off to a sensational start as he got the wicket off the very first ball of the innings by trapping Pathum Nissanka in front of the stumps.
Mohammed Siraj also joined the party at the other end by dismissing Dimuth Karunaratne lbw and further got Sadeera Samarawickrama caught at slip in the same over. The right-arm seamer further piled on the agony as he cleaned up captain Kusal Mendis (1 off 10) in the very next over to leave Sri Lanka in all sorts of trouble at 3/4 after 3.1 overs.
