Even as curtains came down on the most memorable Test series played between India and England, over 170 million logged in to JioHotstar, making this the highest-ever reach for a Test series on digital.
As the series headed to an extraordinary, spine-tingling conclusion, the fifth day of the fifth Test at the Oval achieved a peak concurrency of 13 million on JioHotstar – the highest-ever for a Test match on digital. On the back of nail-biting contests and riveting twists, the England-India series held India’s attention with a mammoth 65 billion minutes of watch time being clocked on JioHotstar.
The series not only marked the beginning of the Indian campaign for the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) 2025-27 cycle but also a change of guard and renewed ambition to reclaim supremacy in red-ball cricket. It was presented across five languages — English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada — on JioHotstar.
“The extraordinary response to India’s tour of England reinforced Test cricket’s ability to forge compelling narratives in almost every session of every match. Reaching over 170 million viewers and setting new concurrency records is a testament not just to the thrilling cricket, but also to our commitment to delivering an immersive storytelling and viewing experience,” said Siddharth Sharma, Head of Content – Sports, JioStar.
Reception to the new leadership and team outlook was overwhelmingly positive, with fans engaging deeply with ‘Follow The Blues,’ a behind-the-scenes content series offering a daily window into training sessions and key narratives. During the live presentation, a special segment titled When India Challenged the Crown revisited India’s rich Test legacy in England.
JioStar will continue its endeavour in keeping cricket fans and viewers at the centre of their efforts with the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup India 2025, set to begin September 30.
