Pat Cummins comments on derogatory post associated to Team India post World Cup win

Recently Australia clinched their sixth World Cup title on November 19 by defeating India in the final. Despite being unbeaten in the tournament until then, India failed to handle the pressure on the big day, as Travis Head's magnificent century helped Australians chase down a target of 241 with six wickets remaining.

Following their World Cup triumph, an Australian media outlet posted a derogatory and offensive comment about Team India, titled 'South Australian Man Gives Birth To World Record 11 Sons'. The post was liked by Australian cricketers Glenn Maxwell and Aaron Finch, while reports suggest that Australia's captain Pat Cummins initially liked the post but later unliked it after it gained widespread attention. The post has since gone viral, much to the displeasure of Indian fans.

Coming to the final of the marquee event, India batted first and posted a total of 240 runs, led by fifties from KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. Despite a strong start from Rohit Sharma, who scored 47 off 31 balls, India could not post a formidable total on the board. 

In the chase, Australia faced early setbacks but recovered with a remarkable 192-run partnership between Travis Head and Marnus Labuschagne. Australia won the match by six wickets, with Head's brilliant 137 earning him the man of the match award. Marnus also supported him very well with a resilient fifty. Virat Kohli was named the player of the tournament for his outstanding performance throughout.

After the final, Indian captain Rohit Sharma acknowledged that the Indian team was 20-30 runs short, a deficit that ultimately cost them the match. He credited Head and Labuschagne for their pivotal partnership, recognizing it as the turning point in the game. 

"We tried everything but it wasn't supposed to be. 20-30 runs more would have been good. credit to Head and Labuschagne who stitched together a big partnership and put us completely out of the game," Rohit had stated.
