India Women completed a famous victory against England, clinching the third and final ODI match played at the Lord's Cricket Stadium on September 24 (Saturday). However, the ending of the third match got a little anti-climactic for some after Deepti Sharma ran out Charlotte Dean at the non-striker's end for backing up too far.

Meanwhile, former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has lashed out at English supporters for targetting India and Deepti. The veteran batter shared a tweet on his official Twitter handle schooling the England fans about the rules of the game.

“Funny to see so many English guys being poor losers. #Runout: Sehwag wrote as a caption on his Twitter post.

The Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur also lauded Deepti after the game and said that what she did was within the laws of the game.

“It's part of the game. I don't think we have done something new. It shows your awareness, of what batters are doing. I will back my players, she hasn't done something outside the rules. After the first game we discussed, we wanted to do really well, we have that much potential. We want to continue this kind of cricket,” Harmanpreet said.

The Indian skipper also thanked the veteran pacer Jhulan Goswami for her contributions to Indian cricket. Harmanpreet also said that she always reaches out to Goswami for guiding her in her low time.

"I just wanted to thank her. She'll always be there for us. She's just a call away. We're really thankful that we got a chance to play with her. She is my go-to person. During my low time, I would always discuss what to do and she was always guiding me," Kaur added.

Talking about the third match, the Women in Blue had a disappointing outing with the bat as they managed to score only 169 runs in the first innings before being bowled out. However, a spirited bowling performance led by pacer Renuka Singh ensured that India make a strong comeback in the match and eventually win the contest by 16 runs.
