Rajat Patidar's act of staring at the IPL (Indian Premier League) trophy has led to RCB fans worrying about the result of the IPL 2025 Final. Ahead of the big match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings in the 18th edition of the league, social media was abuzz, claiming the RCB skipper committed a blunder by 'pulling off a Rohit Sharma'.
The reference was regarding the gesture of the Indian ODI skipper, who stared at the ODI World Cup 2023 trophy before the final of the tournament against Australia on November 19, 2023, at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Coincidentally, RCB's match against PBKS is also at the same venue, where India lost to Australia in the final.
Rajat Patidar, though, was not worried about the superstitions of the fans, as he understood the expectations of the fans when you're leading a team like RCB. The star player claimed that his focus was on things that are in his control and trying to be in the present.

Karthik explains why Patidar has been the biggest eye-opener
Winning for Virat and fans would mean a lot: Patidar
"Virat has contributed so much over the years, winning would mean a lot, especially for him and the fans. Expectations come naturally, especially when you're leading a team like RCB in a final, but I always focus on what's in my control and try to stay in the present," said Patidar in the press conference before the IPL 2025 final.
The RCB skipper spoke about his journey as the captain of the side and claimed that being around some of the best leaders has shaped his approach. He claimed to have created a focused and relaxed dressing room environment for both domestic and international players.
"This captaincy journey has been a great learning experience for me; being around some of the best leaders and foreign players in the game has really shaped my approach. I've focused on creating a relaxed and secure environment where both domestic and international players feel confident. We're not thinking too much about the stage; we're here to play our best cricket," Patidar concluded.
