Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been booked by Jaipur police on charges of allegedly raping a minor. This development follows a separate rape complaint lodged against Dayal weeks earlier by a woman in Ghaziabad.
According to police officials, the latest First Information Report (FIR) was filed on July 23 under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The complainant, a 19-year-old aspiring cricketer, alleged that she came into contact with Dayal two years ago. She told police that Dayal had promised to assist her with her cricketing career, a relationship that eventually led to the alleged offense. The case is currently under investigation, and further details are awaited.
“The first incident (of rape) was in 2023, when she was 17. The most recent incident was in April 2025 in Jaipur,” the SHO said as quoted by The Indian Express.
The latest allegation against the 27-year-old reportedly dates back to the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season, during which Jaipur hosted several matches. This comes just weeks after he was previously booked on charges of rape following a complaint by a woman in Ghaziabad.
Meanwhile, the earlier complaint was filed through the Chief Minister’s online grievance portal on June 21. In it, the woman accused Dayal of "emotionally, mentally, and physically exploiting" her over a five-year relationship, during which he allegedly promised to marry her. Based on her statement, police registered a case of rape.
In a related development, the Allahabad High Court has granted Dayal interim protection from arrest in the Ghaziabad case. The order, issued by a division bench comprising Justices Siddhartha Varma and Anil Kumar, offers temporary relief to the fast bowler.
