Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fast bowler Yash Dayal has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following serious allegations of sexual exploitation by a woman from Ghaziabad. The FIR, registered at the Indirapuram police station, accuses the cricketer of mentally, physically, and financially abusing the woman over a five-year relationship under the false promise of marriage.
The woman, who initially filed her complaint through the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister’s grievance portal (IGRS) on June 21, claimed that she was introduced to Dayal's family and was treated as a potential spouse. However, she alleged that Dayal later turned violent and continued to exploit her emotionally, despite assurances of marriage.
Complaint against Yash Dayal
The complainant stated that her relationship with Dayal began in late 2020, after they connected over social media. Their first meeting reportedly took place in Prayagraj, after which she claims she stayed at the cricketer's residence and developed a close bond with his family. The woman alleged that she even attended the IPL 2022 final with Dayal’s family and joined them on a trip to Ooty.
Despite behaving like a committed couple in public, the woman claimed that Dayal not only avoided discussing marriage but was involved with multiple other women. In April 2025, she was reportedly contacted by another woman who was in a relationship with the pace and provided proof of his affairs. The complainant says that three more women came forward with similar claims.

Dayal records his statement
According to the FIR, Dayal’s family was aware of his actions but allegedly continued to provide false assurances about marriage. She claims that the emotional trauma led her to depression and suicidal thoughts, for which she sought treatment.
The complaint includes chats, screenshots, video call recordings, and photos submitted as evidence. She also alleged financial exploitation, stating that Dayal took money from her and used the same app on their phones to make household purchases.
Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, under which Dayal has been booked, concerns sexual acts carried out through cheating, including false promises of marriage, and is punishable by up to 10 years in prison. The section is non-bailable. Following the escalation through the CM’s portal, the Ghaziabad police began an investigation, issued a notice to Dayal, and recorded the complainant’s statement. On July 7, Dayal also gave his statement to the police.
Meanwhile, the 27-year-old was a main player for RCB in IPL 2025, playing an important role in their title-winning campaign with 13 wickets. The left-arm pacer had also earned a maiden India call-up for a home series against Bangladesh in 2024 but is yet to debut for the national team.
