Reports: BCCI to unveil India's T20 World Cup 2026 jersey during Raipur ODI

The second ODI between India and South Africa in Raipur on December 3 is set to witness the BCCI likely unveiling India’s brand-new T20 World Cup 2026 jersey during the mid-innings break. With the ICC recently announcing the full schedule for the 2026 tournament and Rohit Sharma being named the official ambassador, the defending champions will be announcing their new jersey for the competition.

India enters the Raipur ODI after a thrilling 17-run victory in the series opener in Ranchi. That match witnessed batting brilliance from Rohit and Virat Kohli, whose partnership gave the hosts a 1-0 lead. 

Meanwhile, jersey launch is expected to be one of the highlights of the Raipur ODI, with reports suggesting that the BCCI will unveil India’s new T20 kit during the mid-innings break. The design is expected to feature fresh patterns and updated colours that reflect India’s campaign theme for the upcoming ICC event. With the T20 World Cup returning to the subcontinent in 2026, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the jersey reveal is a start to India’s build-up to their title defence.

The ICC recently confirmed the full schedule for the 20-team competition, which begins on February 7 and concludes on March 8, 2026. India will play the USA in the tournament opener in Mumbai before facing arch-rivals Pakistan on February 15 in Colombo.

Rohit Sharma named ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 tournament ambassador

Notably, Rohit, who is coming off a brilliant knock in Ranchi and is currently part of India’s ODI squad, was recently named the tournament ambassador for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The veteran batter becomes the first-ever playing ambassador for a men’s ICC event.

The veteran batter has expressed pride in being associated with the tournament in this new capacity. During a recent fixture launch event, Rohit shared a piece of advice for India’s current T20I captain, Suryakumar Yadav.

“I would tell them to shut the outside noise, because that is something that we’ve created amongst ourselves, where when there’s a job at hand, how to focus on that, and I’m sure some of these guys are pretty good at that," he said as quoted by ICC.
