The new generation of talented cricketers in the Indian cricket scene has impressed fans across the country in the current era. One of the upcoming stars is Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and the Uttar Pradesh-based batter, Rinku Singh, who has recently made headlines as he is set to be engaged to a well-renowned politician, Priya Saroj, on June 8.
While Rinku has already established himself as one of the top stars in the competition and has played some match-winning knocks for the Indian team, Saroj has also made significant strides in the political world. She is currently representing the Samajwadi Party and is a member of the Lok Sabha, having assumed office in June 2024.
Saroj’s father and experienced politician, Tufani Saroj, has confirmed the relationship between the two young and inspiring individuals and revealed that both Rinku and Saroj have sought the permission of their parents, with initial discussions having already taken place.
"Both the children have expressed their desire to get married and have sought our permission for the same. The engagement has not taken place yet. Initial talks have taken place in this regard," Tufani was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.

Meanwhile, speaking of Rinku Singh, the southpaw has had a fairly decent career in the IPL so far, having played 59 matches for KKR and scored 1,099 runs at an average of 30.52. He also has a strike rate of 145.17 in the tournament. In the current season, he has scored 206 runs from 13 games at an average of 29.42 and a strike rate of 153.73.
Speaking of his international career, he has played 33 T20Is and two ODIs for India. He has scored 546 runs at an average of 42.00 in the T20 format and 55 runs at an average of 27.50 in 50-over cricket.
