Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson pulled off an amazing one-handed catch to dismiss Prithvi Shaw in the ongoing 11th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 (IPL) on Saturday, April 8. While chasing a big 200-run target, Delhi Capitals lost two players in the very first over which put them in misery as they aimed to open their account at the tournament this year.

Trent Boult delivered an outswing delivery to lure Prithvi to flick a shot at mid-on but it took a thick edge and Samson dived to his right in front of the first slip to take a sensational catch. This was a breath-taking effort from the wicketkeeper, who earlier was bowled out on a duck while batting in the first innings. The Kiwi speedster further shocked the Capitals with Manish Pandey's wicket on the next delivery as he bowled a double-wicket maiden to put Rajasthan in driver's seat.

Meanwhile, David Warner won the toss and elected to field at Guwahati's Barsapara Cricket Stadium in hopes of recording their first win this season. But Jos Buttler and Yashasvi Jaiswal produced another big start for Rajasthan with a 98-run stand for the opening wicket. Yashasvi smashed 60 off just 31 while Buttler played an anchor's role in the powerplay overs, keeping the scoreboard moving.

Buttler top-scored with 79 off 51 but Rajasthan struggled to keep the momentum on in the middle overs. Mukesh Kumar dismissed both the openers while Samson and Riyan Parag failed to make any impact. But West Indies' big-hitter Shimron Hetmyer ensured a big total for the Royals by adding 39* off 21.

Rajasthan suffered a narrow five-run defeat against Punjab Kings in their second game but a win against Delhi might boost them to the top of the IPL points table. Thanks to the contributions from the batters, Rajasthan posted a 200-run target against the David Warner-led Delhi Capitals.
