Saurabh Tiwary, Shahbaz Nadeem elected as secretary, joint secretary of JSCA

Former Indian cricketers, Saurabh Tiwary and Shahbaz Nadeem, have been elected to serve as secretary and joint secretary, respectively, of the Jharkhand State Cricket Association. In the recently-conducted committee elections, Tiwary registered a resounding victory over SB Singh via a margin of 438-194. Similarly, Nadeem defeated Raj Kumar Sharma with a 409-199 scoreline.

The two cricketers who have brought a great deal of success to Jharkhand over the years, called time on their careers as professional cricketers in early 2024 itself. Tiwary and Nadeem played three ODIs and two Tests for India, respectively. Although their international careers could never take off, they turned out to be quite reliable domestic cricketers and garnered a lot of experience over the years.

Tiwary, who captained Jharkhand on 88 instances across formats, represented the state for a little over 17 years. As for Nadeem, he made his First-Class debut for Jharkhand as a 15-year-old back in the 2004-05 season. The two recently represented India Masters in the 2025 edition of the International Masters League.

The two had decent runs in the Indian Premier League too. Tiwary and Nadeem played 93 and 72 IPL games, respectively. The two shared Delhi Capitals' dressing room in 2015. Tiwary ended up with 1494 runs in 74 innings at a strike rate of 120.09. Nadeem scalped 48 wickets in 70 innings with his left-arm spin, maintaining an economy rate of 7.56.
