Popular Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor recently tasted cricketing royalty as he played the beautiful sport at the iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London. Kapoor is known to be an avid cricket fan. He can bat as well as bowl medium pace. The New Delhi-born has portrayed roles of cricketers on-screen in a couple of movies - "Dil Bole Hadippa!" and "Jersey". He impressed fans with his orthodox batting stance and textbook shots in the two films.
Playing at Lord's is a dream for every cricketer. Kapoor, being an actor, got the privilege recently, with his wife Mira Rajput cheering him on from the stands. In the images, his excitement was visible. He was fully geared up for the occasion, sporting a white jersey and cricket shoes. Rajput also matched the vibe, as she wore a white shirt.
"What a day!" Kapoor wrote in the caption of his post, where he shared pictures from his experience at the Home of Cricket.
Captions from the stadium's official Instagram described the moment as "An absolute privilege to have @shahidkapoor playing at the Home of Cricket today!"
In one of the pictures, Kapoor was seen hitting a big shot. Meanwhile, in others, he could be seen enjoying his time on the field with his teammates. Kapoor has played in many renowned venues in his life, but the encounter at Lord's will surely hold a special place in his heart.
On the work front, Kapoor is busy shooting "Arjun Ustara". The movie is helmed by Vishal Bhardwaj, who has directed Kapoor in movies like Kaminey and Haider in the past. Arjun Ustara is backed by produced Sajid Nadiadwala, and features an ensemble cast, including Triptii Dimri, Nana Patekar, and Randeep Hooda, with a special appearance for Vikrant Massey. The film is expected to hit theatres in December 2025.
