Bangladesh created history by beating Pakistan 2-0 in the Test series. The Najmul Hossain Shanto-led side were the underdogs going to the series, but they challenged the odds and got the job done in some style. Their preparation for the series was impacted due to the violence back home, but nothing distracted them from picking up back-to-back wins in Rawalpindi.
Naturally so, the players were jubilant with the series win, to say the least. Notably, the bowlers were spectacular in the second innings, as Hasan Mahmud and Nahid Rana picked up a five-for and four-for respectively to restrict Pakistan to 172 runs. During the chase, Zakir Hasan and Shadman Islam gave a perfect start, which Shanto and Mominul Haque later capitalized.
Speaking after the game, Bangladesh bowling coach Andre Adams stated that he is very proud of the team and added that the fans would be extremely happy as they have seen scary things in recent times. He also lauded the pacers and mentioned being happy with the bowling unit.

“Very proud of this young group, not the kind of wickets we were expecting before this tour, but this was a big effort from our pacers. I've been here to an already pretty good group, you need to look after the fast bowlers, they are keen, and the management just need to take care of them. Pretty happy with how it's going so far. I don't know what it means to the country, they're a proud nation, and I am sure they'll be proud of the team, especially after what happened in the last couple of months, we were there, and it was pretty scary,” Adams said after the game.
All about team effort: Litton Das
Litton Das was adjudged Player of the Match for his phenomenal knock of 138 runs in the first innings. Bangladesh were reduced to 26/6 at one stage and needed something special to bounce back. That’s when Litton and Mehidy Hasan Miraz stitched a partnership of 165 runs, which changed the game.

Speaking about the innings, Litton said that he believed in himself and also thanked the management. He also spoke about the difficult times at home and talked about the hard work put in by every cricketer for success.
“Just believed in myself, Pakistan bowled well in that spell but me and Miraz wanted to just bat long. He hit a four and a six and then the momentum shifted. When Hasan came, I didn't have many scoring opportunities, so I took time and wanted to play as many overs as possible. Credit to Hasan as well for batting really well. When we came here, things back home weren't up to the mark, but we came here and practised hard. It is all about team effort, credit to all and the coaching staff,” the wicketkeeper-batter said.
