Witnessing a magnificent run chase is something that many fans look forward to and fans present in the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground and around the world on October 23 witnessed just that as the subcontinental giants India and Pakistan were up against each other and the former put up a historic chase to clinch the match on the final ball of the game.

Virat Kohli’s unbeaten innings (82* runs of 53 balls) guided the Men in Blue to a win from the jaws of defeat. However, the sport has witnessed on many occasions a special innings by a player that changes the the game entirely.

Former cricketer Wasim Jaffer picked his greatest finishers of all time including the one’s from the pre-T20 era.

“I think pre-T20 era, definitely Michael Bevan did it quite a few times (chasing totals). If he is playing till the end, you know Australia will win most of the games. Javed Miandad also needs to feature, he was pretty good, because he took Pakistan home many times,” said Jaffer while speaking on 'BatBricks7 presents Run Ki Runneeti show on CricTracker.

MS Dhoni showed us template to finish games: Wasim Jaffer

Jaffer further added former India skipper MS Dhoni, who is known for his finishing, in his list of greatest finishers.

“In the current lot, MS Dhoni has been outstanding. Again, he did it too many times as well in high pressure games and I think he showed us a template how to finish games. Take the game deep and then put pressure on the bowlers. MS Dhoni knew if he connects the ball for a few sixes, the game is going to be with him,” he said.

"And that exactly is what happened the other day against Pakistan. Pandya and Kohli took the game deep, 3 overs 48, you connect a couple of sixes, you know the bowlers are going to be under pressure. So, I think definitely MS Dhoni is ‘numero uno’ in that and Virat Kohli has to be there,” added Jaffer.
