The Nepal cricket team is set to tour India and play Mumbai in two preparatory matches as part of their build-up to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. Rohit Paudel will lead the Nepalese side in the marquee tournament, where they will begin their campaign against England on February 8. Nepal have been placed in Group C for the competition.

As part of an extensive preparation plan, Nepal will tour Sri Lanka and India, featuring in several T20 matches against Sri Lanka A and Mumbai-based teams. The tour has been divided into two phases, aimed at providing the squad with quality match practice ahead of the global event.

Nepal will arrive in Sri Lanka on January 19 and begin their training sessions on January 19, 21, and 23. Their first T20 match against Sri Lanka A is scheduled for January 20, followed by the second and third matches on January 22 and January 24, respectively. This Sri Lanka leg will serve as Phase 1 of their World Cup preparation, allowing the team to acclimatise and test combinations against strong opposition.
